HIKE AND ARCHEOLOGY: RAVELLO GRAND TOUR

Enchanting views for a unique cultural experience.
It starts from Piazza Duomo, the center of the village, to go to Fontana Caruso, the place of
perdition that inspired Forster for his “Story of a panic”. Here it is nature that dominates with its own
luxuriant chestnut trees alternating with ancient limestone, structures intended for the production of lime. After
a short break continues following a unique path where it is possible to admire a small one
source that ensures very good water for many months of the year and a climb of medium difficulty that
leads to the ancient fortifications of Ravello, the castle of Fratta which played a fundamental role
during the Pisan attacks in 1135 and 1137. Remains of cisterns and towers and a truly suggestive view
they prepare the descent towards the Toro district which for centuries was the fortified place of the nobility and
still today the center of elegance. The walk ends by returning to Piazza Duomo.
