POMPEI: BACK IN THE HISTORY

Despite being destroyed by the most powerful eruption in the history of Vesuvius (100 million cubic metres of lava emitted in 25 hours, 2000 dead), the remains of Pompeii and Herculaneum have remained intact over the centuries.
Excavations have recovered entire stretches of the two cities, which were popular destinations for depraved Roman patricians.
The walk takes in the most important public buildings in Pompei, including the Capitolium, the Basilica, the baths, and the Stabiane Spas, as well as private buildings, including extraordinary villas such as the Villa dei Misteri, the house of the Faun, the College of Priests of Augustus, the House of the Deer, still frescoed with unique mosaics.
